Table Thai Massage

In this course, we will guide you through performing a Thai massage on a table.

Thai massage is a traditional healing art that originated in Thailand over 2,500 years ago. It is based on the principles of energy flow, or “Sen,” and uses a combination of acupressure, yoga-like stretching, and deep tissue massage techniques to release tension and promote relaxation.

Unlike other types of massage, Thai massages are traditionally performed dry, meaning no lotion or oil is used. Instead, the Thai therapist applies pressure to different areas of the body, combining compression and stretching techniques. During the session, you lie on a mat on the floor, and the therapist guides you through various positions as the massage progresses.

But in this case, we will transfer these techniques onto a table, which is much more practical for most practicing massage therapists worldwide, allowing them to integrate it into their daily practice.

One of the most interesting aspects of Thai massage is that the therapist uses different parts of their body to perform the treatment. The body parts that can be used during a traditional Thai massage include the hands, forearms, feet, and elbows. Overall, Thai massage is a holistic and therapeutic art form that helps restore balance and harmony to both body and mind.

In this course, you will learn:

  •  The history of Thai massage and the 10 Sen lines
  •  Massage techniques for the whole body in lying down positions: lying on the back, seated, lying on the side, and facial massage.
  •  A variety of techniques and the reasons why they are performed on specific areas.
  •  Massage techniques that you can practically apply in your daily table massage practice.
